All Desktop and Laptop Seagate Hard Drive models are supported EXCEPT for the following:
  • Laptop FDE hard drives with hardware encryption chip
  • Desktop Alpine models: Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 *
  • Desktop Avalanche models: Seagate Barracuda ATA V
  • Desktop Snowmass models: Seagate Barracuda ATA IV
  • Desktop models: U5, Barracuda II, Barracuda III
  • The Following Drives:
      Model Number
    • ST910021AS
    • ST9160827AS
    • ST980813ASG
    • ST3250820AV


*The above HDD models have been found to NOT be unlocked by Shinobi's automatic unlock function.

Notes:
1) THE SUPPORTED HDD MODEL LIST IS NOT 100% ACCURATE due to unannounced hard drive firmware revisions by manufacturers. in some cases, 2 hard drives with identical model numbers may have different outcomes with the Shinobi ( 1 will instantly unlock while the other will not. )
2) SMS Members are eligible for data recovery service through YEC International Inc. for most HDD models that are not supported by Shinobi’s automatic unlock function. Data recovery service rates are quoted on a per-case basis. Please contact Ji2 Inc. for details at info@yec-usa.com
3)Some Alpine model Seagate Barracude 7200.7 hard drives may be automatically unlocked by the Shinobi.
