Q1: What is the King Demi AS-F Forensic Option?
The King Demi AS Forensic is essentially a King Demi AS with additional forensic features. The additional features are grouped together on a forensic menu.
  • Write Block functions for ATA, SATA and SCSI
  • Quick Device Identify functions to understand Hard Drive geometry information (Size, Hidden Area, Password Security Level, LBA, CHS,S/N, LBA, CHS, Trans. Mode, SMART, Model)
  • HEX overwrite for sanitize HDD
  • Connect PC to mounted HDDs via SCSI and USB
  • DD Image make with MD5 hash
  • Bad sector skip function during DD Imaging
Q2: What other functions does it provide?
The King Demi AS-F also has a DUPLICATOR mode, a TESTER mode and a SECURE DATA ERASE mode. These functions provide total life cycle management for any Hard Drive. This equipment is capable of performing any common industrial need for a Hard Drive from assembly to scrap.
Q3: How fast does it produce DD images with MD5?
Speed is about 19sec/GB for ATA100 interface Hard Drives. For example, a DD image can be acquired from an IBM Deskstar 40GB in approximately 19min. It tested at 74 minutes in acquiring a DD image from a WD200 with 200GB. (HARDCOPIES took about 22min, and 83min.)
Q4: How fast is the interface between a PC and the King Demi AS-F?
It is the same speed as USB2.0. We provide SCSI adapters for connection between laptops and the King Demi AS-F, which tested at about 20~30MB/second
Q5: Does the King Demi AS-F work with any SATA, ATA and SCSI interface Hard Drive?
Yes, SATA, ATA and SCSI interface are all native connectors, NOT adapter solutions. (fast and easy operation!)
Q6: What options are available?
There are 1.8, 2.5 and 3.5 inch hard drive plug-in jigs available. Please ask us about other available options.
Q7: Will this equipment format a HDD if it is password protected?
If the HDD is password locked, this item will NOT format it. It will display an error message stating that there is a password lock on the HDD (ABORT). We provide a separate product that performs password lock/unlock functions called the "HDD Rock." Please follow the link below for more information:

Q8: How long does it take to image an 80GB drive?
This depends largely on the speed of the given Hard Drive. The King Demi AS-F works at 0-3% slower speed then true HDD speed (WRITE speed).
