September 2008

Dear YEC Partners

This month we are excited to begin a series of newsletters that will give you an introduction to our staff here at YEC, with each month focused on a different department. We also have a new event for you to mark on your calendars, the International HTCIA

Thank you!

Reseller News: Atola Insight Release Update

YEC International and Atola Technology will release an updated Beta software version during the first week September. The update includes the below features:

1) Complete Media Scan Function
2) Various bug fixes
3) Vista 32 bit compatibility
4) Firmware Update to DiskSense unit (automatically performed by software)

Promotion: Shinobi

YEC International is now offering a special promotional discount for the Shinobi and its recommended Adapter Pack (regularly $200). This promotion will last until November 30th of this year.

Regular Customer Pricing: $1,190
Regular Reseller Pricing: $952 ($238 Discount)
Reseller Promotional Price: $833 ($357 discount)

As we near the end of 2008 we are looking to move some clunky hardware out of our warehouse by encouraging customers to take advantage of this special discount. We hope you will all take advantage as well by either passing on the discount to your customers or collecting the extra margin as incentive. Please do not hesitate to send comments or suggestions regarding this promotion.

Meet the Staff: Sales Department

Communicating via email can be so impersonal. Two companies or people can work together for years without knowing anything about the other personally or having a clue what they look like. Some of our esteemed partners have met most of our team at one time or another, but we’d like to take the time to introduce the YEC staff in order for all of you to be able to connect faces to email addresses.

Over the next few issues we would like to introduce ourselves one department at a time, starting with our sales department.

Jesse Goldstein
Sales Representative

Hello all! I have been working with YEC International for around 3 years now. I’ve had the pleasure of working closely with most of you as I’ve spent much of my time here developing our resale channel. The only person I’ve yet to meet is Steve Boote over in England, so hopefully I can make a trip one day and actually get out of Heathrow Airport! I’m sure he’s a gent just like the rest of you.

I was born and raised in Hollywood, California and I now live in Long Beach. I attended college at California State University, Long Beach, where I graduated in 2007 with a B.A. in psychology (us psych majors make very persuasive salesmen!). Now I spend much of my spare time playing and coaching Ice Hockey. I also enjoy golf, poker and general lazy activities… and telling my friends all about hard drive testing and duplication, of course.

Ariel Rigney
Sales Representative

Hello there! I’ve been a part of YEC International since August of 2007. I’m involved with various projects and departments here in the office; you all are probably most familiar with me through routine order processing and backorder tracking (remember: don’t shoot the messenger!). I like working directly with our resellers, and having the opportunity to meet everyone I work with on a regular basis at our various events or shows. I think it’s important for us to make personal connections in business in today’s electronic world.

Currently I’m a full-time student at California State University Long Beach, and am working toward a B.S. in Sports Psychology in Physical Rehabilitation. I work here at YEC part-time during the school year, and full-time over summer and winter holidays. When I find some free time, I enjoy travelling, participating in sports such as running, indoor rock climbing, and bike riding, as well as participating in some lower activity pastimes like reading (somehow, I always seem to have my nose in two or three books at a time).

Noe (Leo) Leoncio
Sales Representative

Hello!!! My name is Noe Leoncio I have been working for YEC international for 7 months now. I started as technical support then I transferred to sales which I also enjoy. I love building computers from scratch and playing golf with my friends.

I attended Philippine Christian University for 3 years where I studied engineering. My family then moved my family to the United States. Since I love computers, I decided to return to school here in the US to learn more about computers. I attended the Computer Education Institute in 2002, where I became a Microsoft Certified Professional and an A+ Comptia Certified Computer Technician.

I have lived in the USA for 20 years now. I have been involved with the computer industry and sales for 12 years. I love talking to people about new technology, especially data recovery equipment, hard drive duplicators, and hard drive testing devices!

Gregg Sugimura
Web and Graphic Designer

Hi! My name is Gregg Sugimura and I’ve worked at YEC International for a little over 2 years. I started out doing shipping and warehouse for a year or so then transferred to web and graphic design.

I graduated from California State University Long Beach in 2002 with a degree in Communication Studies. In my free time, you’ll usually find me watching DVDs or playing guitar, or both at the same time!

I always enjoy meeting our resellers (it’s nice to put the names to the faces that I’ve been in contact with during my time here) and it’s always interesting to hear an International opinion on Southern California living.

Events: HTCIA 2008

When: October 20-22
Where: Atlantic City’s Bally’s Hotel & Casino
           Atlantic City, New Jersey

YEC International is proud to announce that we will attend the 2008 International High Tech Crime Investigations Association (HTCIA) conference and exhibition in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The HTCIA has long been a central resource for training and collaboration among various fields in the field of Forensic Computer Investigation. Held at a new location every year, their annual conference and exhibition features procedural training courses, product demonstrations and networking events.

YEC International will host our own booth on the exhibit floor featuring our Forensic Data Recovery Product Line: Ninja-F, King Demi AS-F, Shinobi and Atola Insight. These products attract a lot of ‘buzz’ at exhibitions as unique niche products that can help forensic investigators to crack high-profile cases by recovering raw data from damaged suspect drives and pinpointing forensic evidence.

For more information about the show, please visit http://www.htciaconference.org/
